Michael A. Brewer is a founding partner and a trial lawyer with extensive civil and trial experience. He specializes in personal injury, premises liability, products liability, environmental and construction litigation, wrongful termination, business litigation, credit card processing and serves the insurance, retailing, manufacturing, business and development industries in California. He is a member of the State Bar of California (1985) and admitted to the California Supreme Court and U.S. District Court of Appeals.
Mr. Brewer has handled several high profile cases including serving as the co-lead counsel for the plaintiffs in the O.J. Simpson civil trial which resulted in a $33,000,000.00 verdict for plaintiffs. In 2002, Mr. Brewer obtained a verdict of $19,939,501 in Orange County which was one of the top twenty verdicts in the state of California for that year. Mr. Brewer also has extensive media experience and has appeared on "Larry King Live", "Rivera Live", "NBC Nightly News" and numerous other television and radio programs to provide expert opinion and analysis. He has been invited by Court T.V. to be a legal analyst on the Civil Aspects of various high profile trials pending throughout the country and currently is a monthly contributor of legal articles and analysis to Lighthouse Magazine. Mr. Brewer was featured in the Los Angeles Daily Journal for his successful defense of recording star Warren "g" and his record company G-Funk music. Mr. Brewer has also been featured in the Los Angeles Times and the Los Angeles Daily Journal for his representation of Diane Latona, which resulted in a published opinion found at LATONA and AETNA US HEALTHCARE, ( 82 F. Supp 2d 1089 (C.D.) Cal., Sept. 27, 1999 ). The RUFO v. O.J. Simpson case also resulted in a published opinion which can be found at 86 Cal. App 4th 573 .
Mr. Brewer majored in political science at California State University at Fullerton, receiving his B.A. in 1982.While in college, Mr. Brewer participated in a foreign policy intensive study program for selected students in Washington D.C. which focused on U.S. relations with the Soviet Union and China. He earned his J.D., Cum Laude, in 1985 from Whittier Law School where he was a member of Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity.
Mr. Brewer is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Admittance to ABOTA is restricted and by invitation only; its members must possess and adhere to its strict requirements for jury trial experience, legal expertise and ethics. He is also a member in the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Orange County Bar Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Brewer has served as a court-appointed arbitrator for the County of Los Angeles and lectured on discovery and pre-trial preparation for Law Seminars International (1992). Mr. Brewer was born in Fullerton, California. He is an avid golfer and a member of Newport Beach Country Club in Newport Beach California.
